During my first
trip to Louisiana, my sister took me to a local facility where
cutting horses are boarded and trained. The owner of this establishment,
tacking up a young roan quarter horse for a work session, wore
boots which, though scuffed, were much more ornate than most
barn boots. They probably began as fancy dress-boots, with a
second life now in the barn.
Back home, the photo I couldnt resist taking, nagged
at me until I paid attention and did the drawing which became
the first of several in my Boots & Feet series. After completing
the second drawing in the series, and in going through the other
photos set aside for upcoming work, it suddenly hit me that in
every single photo, the feet---human and equine--- are in sync.
More artwork from this series will be in this website art gallery
soon. When it is, you will see exactly what I mean. |
